Since then we have been involved in two church planting projects, the North Side Christian Church and the Eagles Christian Church. At this time we are disengaging from the work at the Eagles’ church. It is now five and a half years old and this past summer the congregation ordained Ruben Fuentes as a Minister of the gospel of Christ Jesus and immediately called him as their pastor. |
Joshua + Ruth BarronCountry: KenyaMinistry: church planting, leadership training, educationhttp://cmfi.org/wherewework/missionary/jrbarronTheir workWe serve on a CMF church catalyst team in Kenya, partnering with CMF-planted churches begun among the Maasai and Turkana peoples. Collectively, these churches are known as the Community Christian Church (CCC), the legal name of our fellowship of churches in Kenya. Our title is Curriculum Development Coordinators with the primary ministry responsibility being to help those churches by developing culturally appropriate curricula in the local languages. Our goal is to help the Maasai learn how to do this themselves. |
When summer is on the way, one of the great things our area has to offer that you may not even know about is Camp ACC – the summer camp ministry of Appalachian Christian Camp. Appalachian Christian Camp has been located in Limestone Cove in Unicoi for over 40 years and has been ministering to the youth of our area for 75 years. All programs and activities take place on the Camp ACC campus which includes a ball field, outdoor basketball court, sand volleyball court, swimming pool, gymnasium with an indoor rock climbing wall, open-air worship center, new air-conditioned dormitories and walking trails all surrounded by the beauty of Unicoi County.Camp ACC is a non-denominational Christian Summer Camp for youth entering Kindergarten through 12th grade. The camp program begins on June 2nd and continues through the summer, ending on August 6th. Camp ACC teaches Christian principles and values in a fun and exciting way that challenges today’s youth. While Camp ACC is a church camp, you do not have to be a member of a church to attend.

The Parkers**Phil and Michelle are working to plant a church in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Sunday morning services for Ban Sila Christian Church began on January 16, 2011 at 10 am meeting in the ministry house beside the Parker's house. Ban Sila means "Rock House" and Sila is Phil's Thai name, too. Also, every Friday at 6:30 we host and teach a small group in our home, called a Lifegroup, that meets in our home for food, worship, Bible study, and prayer time. As families hear the word of God and experience God working in their lives through Christian relationships and answered prayer, new believers are added to the Kingdom of God. It is our goal to facilitate the discipleship of these new believers in their new life in Christ through large group meetings and small home cell groups. http://www.victory44.org |
